We’re Hiring — Remote Jobs
Make the web a better place for more than a billion people each month.
Explore globally distributed, flexible opportunities and join our mission to democratize publishing and e-commerce for all.
WordPress powers over 40% of the web—and it keeps growing.
Matt Mullenweg created WordPress.com and parent company Automattic in 2005, two years after co-founding the open source project WordPress.
Since then, both Automattic and WordPress have expanded massively and consistently. WordPress is by far the largest CMS on the web, powering ten times as many websites as the second-largest platform.
We enable anyone with a story to tell it, from bloggers to small businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises. And our growth is accelerating, as our mission is now more important than ever before.
We don’t make software for free. We make it for freedom.
WordPress.com combines an unmatched depth of features and power with the ease of using themes and plugins, plus tools that let our customers learn at their own pace.
We’re committed to the creed that keeps us focused on the values that matter: humanity, decency, and transparency.
This is one tech company you can feel proud to join.
How We Work
The future of work is here.
Choose your own adventure.
Create the work environment and schedule that empowers you to perform your best. As part of a global, distributed company—we’re remote work from day one—we care about the work you produce, not the hours you put in.
Join a team of diverse, global perspectives. Work in the location you choose. We are hiring for hundreds of open positions across the world. You’ll have colleagues in 88 countries, speaking 114 different languages.
Chart your path.
It’s possible, even encouraged, to occasionally rotate to a new team if you wish. If you’re comfortable in the gray and excited by new challenges, you will thrive in our flexible and autonomous environment.
While our structure is fairly flat, we encourage stepping up to leadership roles and support that desire with coaching, mentorship, organizational transparency, and frequent rotations to team lead positions.
Make an impact.
We’re a small company with a huge footprint, helping people express themselves and earn a living. If you’re ambitious and driven by a passion to help people, you can make a visible, profound, and lasting difference here.
Grow creatively, intellectually, and professionally. We believe in constant learning, and offer mentorship and personal coaching to support your growth.
As part of the Automattic family, we’re a mission-driven, fully distributed company with no physical offices, adding to the 1700+ Automatticians in 88 countries speaking 114 different languages.
We’re committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and believe in making the web a better place for everyone.
Work for us—from anywhere. We are hiring for hundreds of open positions.
Engineers at WordPress.com are responsible for a variety of codebases and processes devoted to making the web a better place. With their varied backgrounds, our engineers collaborate with the other roles at Automattic to define, implement, and improve the experience those engines provide and enable.
Designers at WordPress.com are responsible for shepherding the experiences of our products. They listen, research, hypothesize, and deliver both product experiences as well as the stories they share about them.
Business Development and Marketing
Members of our business development and marketing teams are opportunity seekers. They’re always looking toward the horizon, searching for new ways to climb higher and tell stories that resonate.
At the end of the day, we make products for people. And while every position at Automattic involves helping people, no one does it better than our Happiness Engineers.
